On the 4th July 2018, the APPG on Agroecology hosted a panel discussion on ‘The Environmental Watchdog: The Legal Status of Post-Brexit Environmental Principles’ in Parliament.

Our panel consisted of Ali Plummer (Senior Policy Advisor on Brexit, RSPB), Tom West (Law and Policy Advisor, ClientEarth), and Rupert Read (Reader in Philosophy, University of East Anglia, and Director of think tank Green House). The panel was Chaired by Kerry McCarthy MP and Baroness Young of Old Scone.

The event was very well attended: we had several MPs and Lords present alongside representatives from NGOs, farming, academic and business owners.

Attached below is the report of the meeting, which will be followed by the APPG making a submission to the Governments ongoing consultation on the Environmental Watchdog.
